Dad and mom

There is much to learn from my mom and dad. My mother is my dads centre of the universe. He cooks for her, buys stuff for her and cares for her in ways that are incomprehensible to me. Twenty years ago when they first separated to live in two different cities, I remember dad crying over the dinner table. The years that mom lived in Kerala were years when dad would criss cross the country many times a year to be with her. And now that mom has retired, they live together again, like a fiery thunder living with a silent lake.

Mom is like that. Silent, not very expressive and strictly mind my own business type. She thinks too much with her head and dad is greatly driven by passion and emotion. I wish I were capable of loving someone half as much, in a subtler more subdued manner. Someday I will.

  1. Wonderful tribute to your parents...

  2. Your parents sound similar to mine. When Dad died a few years ago, Mom has never recovered. They also were opposites tempermentally. Odd how they can attract each other. Hope your wish comes true. Grand passion IS possible. It can also be painful.

Castles in sand under the weeping willows

I know I have been busy I have been busy digging Little pits in shifting sands By a choppy sea, and waiting For my little dreams To form puddles in my living And slowly watch its walls collapse Into itself Water to Water Sand and all Amidst the roaring of the waves And the silences Of the droopy willows Crying In the falling rain

But I promise to love you tomorrow

The promises of a better tomorrow Holds me back, my darling, today There is always so much more to do But I promise to love you tomorrow. Working late nights and barely sleeping I wake up and find the world already rushing ahead And each day dominoes into another But I promise to love you tomorrow. I was young once And I thought I would have more time But now I am in a bit of a rush But my darling, I promise to love you tomorrow. Just when I thought that I finally had time My therapist forced on me a dog My little sweetheart, my cuddly woodly coochie coo And Oh!, there is you! You, my darling, I promise to love you tomorrow 😊 Photo
