Some day I shall gather your memories
And throw them to the winds
Slowly, one memory at a time
I would let them escape,
UntilI have erased
My past
Completely.
The promises of a better tomorrow Holds me back, my darling, today There is always so much more to do But I promise to love you tomorrow. Working late nights and barely sleeping I wake up and find the world already rushing ahead And each day dominoes into another But I promise to love you tomorrow. I was young once And I thought I would have more time But now I am in a bit of a rush But my darling, I promise to love you tomorrow. Just when I thought that I finally had time My therapist forced on me a dog My little sweetheart, my cuddly woodly coochie coo And Oh!, there is you! You, my darling, I promise to love you tomorrow 😊 Photo
Oh how I wish I could take all my memories of him and throw them to the wind... so I don't have to have them in my heart anymore... it's much too painful sometimes...
ReplyDeleteDear Launna, this is never practical, the poem is titled slow death... Sigh!!!
DeleteIts a trap.
ReplyDeleteEven the thought. We're actually unbounded, free, unrestricted.
We created these limits.
Even the fear of death.
There is a felt sadness in this one...a wish to be free of heartache. I think many can identify with your poem.
ReplyDeleteI love memories, especially from someone I loved... would never let them escape... lovely write up :)
ReplyDeleteEasier said than done, no? :)
ReplyDeleteWell written.
My first time here, definitely not my last time for sure.
Updated mine. Do drop by.
